SHALOM Adonai Music is set to host a dinner event on 3 September at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) Tea Room Pavillion.
The dinner event is aimed at raising funds that will cater for different projects of the group.
The group’s event co-ordinator, Beke Gumbo said the success of the event will assist the group in acquiring a full wardrobe and a Public Address (PA) system.
“We are inviting everyone to our dinner event to come and join us from 6pm to 9pm. Fees will be pegged at $13 per plate, $25 per couple or $100 for a table of six. The money will help us to record our music as well as produce videos of songs for the upcoming album,” he said.
He said available on that night will be Shalom Adonai Music branded merchandise such as hats, caps, key tags as well as t-shirts, among other items.
The group has seven members. However, the group is strong and working in full capacity at any given time.
“We are also fortunate to have friends who are helping in the day to day running of the group, which is aiding in creating a professional outlook. Our only hassle is that we have as yet not been able to secure some form of financial sponsorship, hence our slow trudge in the running of big projects such as concerts and recording,” said Moyo
The group got its name from the message in the book of Judges 6:24, where Gideon builds an altar and calls it “Jehovah Shalom” meaning “God is Peace”. Therefore “Shalom Adonai” means “The Lord is Peace”.
“We have since been very active in sharing hope through our music and have been involved in numerous events of different magnitude, from home visits to important civil events. We have also travelled across our borders to reach a wider audience. Our influence is spreading from strength to strength,” he said.
