A BULAWAYO writer last week released his debut book titled: Of Love, Business And Life which is a collection of non-fictional short stories inspired by his day to day life, life challenges and the solutions thereof.

The writer, Taurai Kelvin Mudyanadzo told Sunday Life in an interview that he was happy to successfully launch his book saying it was a dream come true to have his work published.

Unpacking what his book is all about, Mudyanadzo said; “Of Love, Business, And Life is a collection of non-fictional short stories from my personal life; I write inspiring and motivational life stories that can help you get the strength to move past your current negative situations and most certainly appreciate the exciting present moments. The book is creatively written in a way that relates to many people and makes the reader feel less lonely,”

“I’m a creative writer whose day job is in cellphone repairs. Hence the subtitle: Confessions of a Smartphone repairs guy,” he said.

He said his target audience is anyone who can read SiNdebele and willing to learn about life’s ups and downs.

“I’m targeting anyone who can read SiNdebele, from the age of 13 going up, anyone who is looking for a good read, anyone who wants to learn about life’s ups and downs looking at life from the eyes of an ordinary man from Bulawayo. Well, this book is a guide to help you “own” yourself again — and shows that all the little mistakes we have made are the scars we need to show and carry proudly because they are not only there to teach us and make us stronger, but they exist to save our lives,” he explained.

Even though he wrote a good book it all came with its fair share of challenges.

“What I can say is every writer has their own unique voice — and mine is kind of, not that popular yet. You see, the way I think is the way I talk, and the way I talk is the same way I write. I published my book online at Amazon,” said Mudyanadzo.

He also spoke on the uniqueness of his style in terms of code switching which resonates well with readers.

“You see, the way I think is the way I talk, and the way I talk is the same way I write, the way I mix SiNdebele and English and this is the way how the majority of youths speak and it is easy to understand as a reader,” he said.
