THE festive season is a time when people have more disposable income. It is a time when people gallivant in merry-making feasts as a number will be in possession of the 13th cheque.

It is also a time when artistes try to cash in on the revelling public and like all other artistes in the city, Jeys Marabini is preparing a show for the festive season where he will be celebrating his 30-year journey in the music industry.

His show will be on 27 December at the Bulawayo Theatre.

Jeys said as musicians it was their duty to keep their fans entertained hence they made sure that there would be a concert to help their fans celebrate life as they journeyed from the beginning of the year to the end.

“The main reason for this live concert is for my friends and fans to help me celebrate the musical journey I have travelled for over 30 years because it has not been an easy journey but I have made it this far, overcoming all the challenges I have faced over the years. Perseverance, patience and knowing there are people who love and support what I do helped me survive in the industry which is more reason to celebrate on the day with the people who have been there through the highs and lows of my career,” he said.

The musician said the live concert would be one of his biggest shows in December and called on people to come and celebrate with him.

“This is going to be one of my biggest shows for the festive season because we will be performing live music. We have serious musicians who will make sure people enjoy the show, even if it might be raining on the day we chose a convenient venue for people to come and enjoy with their families. That is what we are determined to do, making sure that our fans enjoy the day to the fullest.

“I know my fans have been longing for my performances as I do not usually perform, hence 27 December will be their opportunity to come and watch me perform live with my friends. On the line-up is Tangapasi from Germany, Sotsha Moyo, Indonsakusa, Zinjaziyamluma from South Africa, Lucky Moyo from UK and many more other local artistes,” he said.
