IT’S all systems go as Bulawayo Social Soccer League (Bssl) teams clash in Week 17 games today at various community grounds around the city.
The matches kick off at 11am followed by the second batch after lunch.
According to the fixtures released by the fixtures secretary Blessing, Adolph Jonga 94 Strivers one of the highest performing “small boys” especially last season will be on the road for a date against tricky Robert Sinyoka at Sinyoka.
Matches between these teams are always exciting regardless of the result.
Strivers who only have one win in their last six games will be praying that they get it right this time. Andrew Nkiwane one of the executive committee members believes the purple patch will soon be a thing of the past.
“Of late our strikers have not been doing their job of scoring goals which has led to poor results. Going forward as a team we need to identify the problem and find a solution to that. However, we have to accept that strikers at times go through a drought period when it comes to finding the back of the net,” said Nkiwane.
Pool A log leaders Stars have an easy assignment at home against Matshobane whose Pool B run-away log leaders Delta are away at Insukamini Primary School where they take on Mabutweni.
In Pool C the reigning champions of the Pool Bangane now a pale shadow of that trail blazing machine will be out to restore lost glory against Sekusile.
