If you have ever used a hosepipe to water a piece of land or garden, you would agree with me how effective, efficient and easy it is. However, if the pipe has a blockage inside or is twisted, even if there is still a consistent supply from the source, water will not be able to flow out at all and if it does, it will be with great difficulty.
This is almost exactly the same way we are all connected to our source, which is God, the Infinite Power behind our creation and the universe, as some choose to call it.
This is where the gift of life and all the subsequent blessings in our lives flow from. The word instructs us in Matthew 7 Verse 7, “Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you.” This verse contains the strong promise that each time we engage the source, (same as opening the tap where the pipe is connected), we are responded to (water flows out).
Rumi, the 13th century poet wrote, “The universe is not outside you. Look inside yourself; everything that you want, you already are.”
This is despite any connotations on religious, racial, gender, age or physical ability grounds. Simply because you are a human being, there is already a pipeline connected between yourself and the source. As a result of this, whatever you request for, can directly get to you, the same way water directly flows through a hosepipe from the turned on tap to the other end.
Important to note and always remember is that the universe helps us to create and to bring possibilities and dreams into reality through communicating with us, giving us ideas and inspiration. Through our respective pipelines, we are provided with endless opportunities for growth and success.
However, if your pipeline is blocked or twisted, you will not be able to perceive that which the universe is incessantly giving you, telling you or showing you.
Vex King, in his book Good Vibes, Good Life suggests that, “The only reason the universe might not be available to you is if you are not attuned to it.”
The main questions then become, how do we attune to the universe and how do we ensure a smooth flow within our pipelines?
I grew up with a deep passion for reading stories. Whenever I saw a novel, I’d do all I can to lay my hands on it and feast my eyes therein.
At one point in my early twenties, I had a remote idea of writing my own book, but I dismissed it as just a fleeting thought.
Strangely, all around me, I started hearing conversations about writing books. Even on TV, interviewing of authors seemed to have increased. Although the inner part of me told me this was no coincidence, my logical mind convinced me that I was noticing this more because I once thought about it. I ignored all the signs.
Several years went by until only through the grace of God, I realised how much I had been missing this invaluable divine communication. When I got around to writing, it came so naturally and was so fulfilling, I only wished I had started earlier.
Can it also be possible that God is speaking to you, sending you tips, hints and signs about how, in the fulfilment of your dream or goal, you can create more, earn more and be more than you currently are but the messages are bouncing like they did on me?
I suggest you look within. Is there anything blocking your pipeline? Limiting beliefs perhaps, negative emotions maybe, or your own rigid expectations of how the way of your success should look like?
Don’t continue short changing yourself when you have a great destiny just within your reach. Pray and meditate consistently, so that your pipeline remains smooth and clear.
Open up your heart for the divine and infinite wisdom that inevitably come even through ways you least expect.
