DREAMSTAR organisers have omitted Trevor Dongo and Killer T from this year`s Dreamstar finale set for the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) on 7 October.

The Dreamstar finale has lived up to billing in the past years as organisers have brought in a star-studded line up of artistes to crack the stage. About 5000 people thronged HICC in last year`s Dreamstar finale in which Trevor Dongo and Killer T lightened up the event with thunderous performances, alongside renowned artistes like Sandra Ndebele and Leonard Mapfumo.

Dreamstar spokesperson Tinashe Kitchen said this year`s finale would not feature neither Killer T nor any well-established artiste performance.

“Dreamstar seeks to storm young artistes to stardom; we have realised that bringing in famous artistes to perform in the final tends to outshine our Dreamstar finalists. This year we want Dreamstar finalists to be the center of attraction. There will have more time on stage which will help create a good relationship with the audience,” he said.

Trevor Dongo, popularly known for his hit Ndashamisika, and dancehall sensation Killer T, whose hit Bvunza Tinzwe became people`s daily talk this year will definitely be missed by fans.

“Preparations for the final are in full swing. The finalists are ready to crack the stage and win judges` heart. There are all being trained by experienced mentors to polish up grey areas. People should come in numbers to witness something special,” he added.

Kitchen added that the contestants showed extreme determination to walk away winners.

The finalists will have to impress four experienced judges namely Sandra Ndebele, Leonard Mapfumo popularly known for his blockbuster hit Madei, Star FM Presenter Nicky Ndoro and Cindy Munyavi.

The finale will see 14 Dreamstar finalists put on a grueling contest in front of thousands of people who usually attend the eye catching vent.

The contestants who progressed to the finale are Blessing (singer), Bradly (magician), Clarence JT (dancer), Footprints (band), Keith (speed painter), Prosper (singer), Taliban (dance hall MC), Tsoro Arts (Marimba band) and Liberty (singer).

The City of Kings duo, Super Geeks Dance Group and singer, Prosper made it to the final after a flawless semi-final performance.

Dreamstar has become the biggest talent search since its foundation in 2015. The illustrious talent search reaches all big cities of Zimbabwe, and this year`s competition was expanded to Chinhoyi and Midlands State Universities.

The winner of the competition will walk away with $3000, an adventurous trip to China, academic scholarships to study in China and a recording contract with JCMC Studios in Harare.
