ONE of Zimbabwe’s youngest motivational writers Marshal Chiza (18) is ecstatic about his international recognition, following the launch of his second book in Harare recently.

The Bulawayo based library assistant and IT administrator with Bulawayo Public Library has made headlines on CNN, CCTV, Nigeria TV Live just to mention a few.

Chiza who made a triumphant entry in the throat cutting world of writing through his first published book, Success In No Time, said to him writing was an itch that he could not afford to ignore.

Strangely unlike his peers he brags that he used to get lost in the piles of books which become his childhood play station churning him to be the celebrated young motivational writer he has become.

Barely eight months after the launch of his first book this year, the determined library assistant chose not to continuously manage other people’s publications and launched yet another offering titled Poor Billionaire.

In an interview with Sunday Life, Chiza said he was continuously motivated and humbled by the ever increasing attendance to his book launches.

“This time the launch was massive compared to the first one, at first I had an attendance of 500 people but this time the attendance tripled,” he said.

Chiza who believes that success is for the chosen few and is grateful to be one of them described how he coined his latest offering.

“When I wrote Poor Billionaire, the first thought I had was a political one before I turned the book to a motivational one. It is based on the 2008 economic period where we were all millionaires, billionaires, trillionaires and yet poor. I turned that economic thought to a motivational one, thus the book from its title to its conclusion translates one’s curiosity into a well-rounded delivery of information and wisdom,” he said.

He added: “Money is not everything but money is something very important. Beyond the basic needs money helps us attain our life’s targets and goals the things we care about most deeply like our family, education, health, charity, adventure and fun.

It helps us get some of life’s intangibles like freedom, the opportunity to make the most of our skills and talents, the ability to choose our own course of life and financial security,” he said.

The young ace believes that challenges are inevitable in life but there is always a special way of handling them without losing focus.

“I know that every challenge I face draws me close to my success, I have faced many pitfalls but I always tell myself that in order for me to make a difference I have to do something different that is the reason why you see me writing and the way I do it is different,” he said.

Chiza further revealed his talisman in the writing field which is characterised with so much competition.

“There are three important aspects, don’t write it right, just write until its right; one has to be a reader because it is the great writers who teach us how to write; don’t compare yourself with anyone, do your own things and have fun of it,” he said.
