ON 21 December 2012, local entertainment events agency – 3D Events management held its first ever pre-Unity Day celebrations, where they held one of the biggest concert’s in the City of Kings.

In doing so 3D Events played host to one of the biggest names, as far as African entertainment and showbiz is concerned – Black Coffee.

The concept to host such celebrations grew into more than just a jamboree but a sequential feature to look forward to every year.

On the years that followed they hosted South Africa’s award winning Black Motion, before hosting Black Coffee again.

This year, as 3D Events thrives to live up to expectation they will again play host to Black Motion at Hartsfield Tshisa Nyama on 21 December.

Mduduzi Mdlongwa who spearheads the agency told Sunday Life that this had grown to be more than just a day to celebrate but a tradition.

“They have been cleared for the show and will be on the last flight from Johannesburg to Bulawayo on the 21st. it has become a tradition for 3D Events to hold a show on this day and we have been doing so consecutively for the past four years, with this year included,” he said.

Mdu said there was a long list of popular and up-and-coming DJs that would be performing at the show, which he said would also be a platform for a budding DJ from Plumtree to showcase his talent on the decks.

“We have a DJ from Plumtree, as well as a drummer from Kezi that will be showcasing their talent. This is more than just a celebration but a platform to market and showcase local talent,” he said.

The show will feature renowned DJs such as Victor Bravo, Skaiva and Slimzar Wa Afrika to mention a few, as well as a surprise guest appearance by a prominent Harare DJ.

“This is our way of celebrating unity that’s why we are bringing artistes from all over the country. The show starts at noon and all in the spirit of unity tickets are available and will be going for $5,” said Mdu.

Black Motion came into being in early 2010 – when Robert (DJ Murda) Mahosana and percussionist Thabo “Smol” Mabogwane decided to work together.

They had already been producing music separately for years prior. From the onset this partnership led to string of respectable production that have been lighting up the dance floors in Southern Africa.

Black Motion has enjoyed support from big name South African DJs and party goers alike.

Their music has been featured on a number of CD compilations in South Africa and Bhana Shilolo and Set Me Free are on healthy rotation in the leading commercial radio stations.

They have worked with names such as DJ Oskido, DJ Mthi, QT, award-winning vocalist Bantu Soul, to name but a few.
