Sunday Sermon with, Apostle Chisale
GREETINGS, beloved nation. Our scripture reading today comes from Isaiah 60:1-3: “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.”
God is calling the church to arise and shine! To rise above unbelief, to rise from mediocrity.
He calls us to a posture of prayer, to embrace our ambassadorial role in the world, because the light has already come. It is “we” who must arise, recognising that the light is present, ready to empower our manifestation and set us apart.
This light grants superior knowledge, a profound wisdom the world has never witnessed. It’s the same light that illuminated our forefathers, leaving kings astounded by their understanding.
John 1:4-5 states, “In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” This is the light John testified to and it is this life-giving light that God desires us to manifest.
Isaiah 60:2 warns, “Darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples.” We are witnessing the effects of this encroaching darkness in the behaviour of people, leading them to blasphemous acts, actions contrary to human nature, which are increasingly being normalised. These are signs of the darkness enveloping the world.
May the church of God arise, shine, and demonstrate the light that dispels this darkness!
The challenge for the church is that we’ve often confined this light within our buildings, failing to carry it into the marketplace and our communities. May God awaken us in this season! Isaiah 60:2-3 continues, “but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light and kings to the brightness of your dawn.”
The reason we aren’t seeing nations drawn to us in our businesses, workplaces, schools and neighbourhoods is that this light that is designed to attract them is not doing so.
This light is so potent that things should be drawn to us, without us having to chase after them. The darkness cannot comprehend this light. Yet, we live in a time where the church is often chasing after worldly things.
Everything in life was created to be attracted and drawn by the mystery of this light. The scripture specifies that nations, not just familiar friends, will come to our light. While blessings from those who know us are appreciated, when strangers support your endeavours, you know it is a manifestation of God’s grace through the light you carry. And kings will be drawn to the brightness of your rising, seeking solutions that this light produces.
May we arise and let this light shine through the body of Christ so that the darkness covering the earth will flee. Remember, we are ambassadors of God’s kingdom, representing Him on earth. As we arise, darkness cannot stand, for we are carriers of the light. If blessings and opportunities are not drawn to us, it may be a sign that we are not fully manifesting this light.
I invite you now to receive Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour. Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that He is Lord, and you will be saved. God bless you all.
